- Woohoo!! No work for two whole days! We are expecting Grandpa and Grandma Schaper in from Oklahoma for a few days. My great uncle and a family friend past away this week. So we will be busy over the next few days with funerals and a funeral dinner.
- Funeral dinners...these always pose a problem for me. Almost everybody knows that I am no culinary genius. Just ask my brother about one of my first contributions to a church carry-in dinner! Anyway, I always have a hard time deciding on what to take. I can actually make pretty good mashed potatoes so I usually resort to that. Besides, EVERYBODY likes mashed potatoes.
- I have also found that most people enjoy fresh fruit and there isn't much of it at most carry-in dinners. Since that's easy to fix...and hard to mess up...I like to make a fruit platter for my second dish. Call it a cop-out if you wish, but, personally, I am ready for a simple piece of fresh fruit after all those fancy, rich dishes!
- Bob was "pontificating" about how blogs are a girl thing to fill our need to feel important. (He doesn't really object he just likes to try to get a reaction out of me.) What really cracked me up was when he called it my "Blah, blah, blah, BLAH-G!!! What a nut.
- So, fellow blah, blah, blah-ggers, thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments. And, if you are still reading this looooong post, you are a true friend, indeed.
- Special thanks to Aimee for the hint about bullets. The journalist in me can't bear to be without paragraphs either!
