Scroll down for pix

...I can't seem to post pictures on the blog like I did. I don't know what I am doing differently but it ain't workin'. Oh, well. I posted a picture of Landen and one of Sabryn from their recent visit. We had a lot of fun with them. Another reason I think I am getting Alz, is because I didn't get any pix of Baby Rylan! Oh well, head over to my SIL, Leora's blog to see the littlest munchkin-- www.leorals.blogspot.com .

I am a visiting home care nurse and have a very spunky, fun lady for a patient right now. She is trying desperately to hold on to her independence as long as possible. Yesterday we were discussing AGAIN how to take her medications properly. She had taken all of her morning meds through Thursday and none of her evening meds.

She was convinced it was Wednesday when it was only Tuesday. She had a very logical reason for believing it was Wednesday, too! She said that she doesn't get Meals on Wheels on the weekend and that she had gotten three meals so far this week! I checked and, sure enough, she had an extra container--with someone else's name on it. The MOW driver was probably being nice a left her a leftover meal or something. I'm sure he never dreamed that it would rattle her whole calendar!

I love my job. I meet some interesting people and see a lot of things and places most people don't. There's not a lot of adrenaline but I don't need that to be happy. The paperwork is absurd. But it is so rewarding to see folks be able to stay in their homes a little longer and to see people get better. I love to teach and that is my main focus--to teach patients and families how to take care of themselves--to work myself out of a job so I can move on to the next patient. I could write a book but you wouldn't believe half of it and the rest would be too boring.

I really enjoy keeping up with everyone's blogs. I will try to get my links list up and running again. If I miss yours just let me know and I'll add it to the list.
