Brilliant Idea

Well, I think it is anyway! I don't know about you, but I do not like standing at that little booth in Wal-Mart going through all my digital photos trying to pick out the ones I want. People waiting behind you, your cell phone ringing, lousy machines. I just don't do my best thinking in that environment...I prefer lounging on the couch in my jammies by the aquarium with my computer in front of me. Well, I have found a way to accomplish this without using credit cards (which, btw, are banned from this house and PAID OFF, thank you, Lord and thank you Dave Ramsey.) I do not like to use my debit card online either because it is too easy to forget to log it and you have to chase it down to get all the numbers right.

ANYWAY, long story short. I think I have, for me anyway, found the best of both worlds. Here it is:
1. When you check out at Wal-Mart, get a gift card for a few dollars (I just ordered 26 prints for a total of $5.33). Leave this card close to the computer for easy usage-ability!!
2. When you have a few minutes on the computer, go to WalMart.com and get a free account.
3. Order your prints online and pay with the gift card! You can even choose 1 hour, in-store pickup or home delivery. They say the prints are $0.12 each but with taxes and if you need shipping it's a little more--I figured about $0.20/picture for today's order.

Believe me, this process is EXTREMELY simple--otherwise I wouldn't be able to do it so go ahead and try it.

I have tons of pictures I have not printed because I didn't like trying to do it at Wal-Mart and I don't have one of those handy printers for photos. I'm excited to be able to get real prints instead of just looking at them on the computer.

So, that's my tip of the week. What's yours??

What a cool idea. I have to take mine still since my camera isn't compatable with the Windows Vista and the only way I can put my pics on the computer is to get them put on a disc.

I just use my debit card. I love Dave Ramsey and we're working through the plan too.

I've been downloading and getting my pictures through Walmart and doing it online for a long time and I don't use a debit or credit card. Unless they have changed something very recently you should be able to download them to Walmart's website and choose the "pay when you pick them up" option. I do all my editing, downloading, etc. from home and then pay when I get there. Even if they have changed that option you shouldn't be paying 20 cents per picture though because 1 hour or in store delivery are both free - only if you choose home delivery do you get charged for shipping so you should only be paying 12 cents per picture plus taxes - which shouldn't be 8 more cents. You can also do the same things with CVS and Walgreens. You are right, it is wonderful doing it from the comfort of your own home and they make the process very easy!
