Having a great time...

We are finally on vacation! Bob and I both had interviews/tours on Thursday. This was stressful and exhausting to say the least. I was not very impressed with the hospital I interviewed with but I know more about my options in the area at other hospitals. Bob has not heard anything but he was positive about his visit. We are hoping to know more by next week--maybe. Bottom line, we still don't know if we are moving.

We spent the rest of the time getting things ready for Arthur and Jessica's wedding. The wedding was today and it was beautiful and very sweet. It was warm, relaxed but sacred and precious--sniff, sniff. Of course, my handsome hunk of a hubby was up there looking gorgeous as usual. I hope to post a picture pretty soon.

We had an unappreciated bit of excitement when Bob's tux absolutely would NOT fit! It was cinched as tight as it would go but there was no way those pants would stay in place and the jacket was huge-mongous! So it took a lot of fancy footwork but we managed to arrange for the appropriate size tux to arrive at the Tulsa airport at 8am by FedEx. Dad and I high-tailed it to Tulsa and returned just in time for the pictures. I think the problem was due to two or three things 1) Bob's recent weight loss of 70+ pounds 2) Mis-labeled tux 3) Poor measuring. Anyway, it all worked out fine and he was the handsomest man in the house.

We came to Mom and Dad's house this evening after the wedding. We have enjoyed relaxing and playing with Gracie and Darrell Lee III. We are loving the new pool Mom and Dad put in and Gracie and Darrell Lee III both love the water. Gracie can be pretty independent with her little floaty-embedded swimgear. Darrell Lee III is fearless and is trying to figure out how to work his arms and legs so HE can be more independent! We are going to obtain more floaty-gear soon so he can work on that.

Aunty Shar loves to hear their chatter seasoned with Little Darrell Lee's "Shars, Shars." Last time we were together he was calling me "Sha"-he's also learning to say Charles (for Uncle Charles) so Liz thinks he is combining the two. Anyway, it's a sweet sound to this Aunty's ears! I'll cry when we have to part but will soak it up for now...

The rest of the gang should get here tomorrow night after services at their churches. We love to be together as a family and always have a good time. This week we will swing on the swings, ride bikes, jump on the trampoline, build stuff with Lincoln logs and TinkerToys, swim, fish, read books, go for walks, play games, have long talks, sing silly songs, and whatever else our imaginations come up with. Some people ask why we don't do more exciting things on vacation...well, hanging out with the folks I love most and doing the things we enjoy, isn't that exciting enough?

Maybe someday I'll trudge up the 5 million steps of the Statue of Liberty or gaze into the Grand Canyon--but for now, I would rather tell these tiny kiddos about the awesomeness of freedom by talking about the flags we see flying and learn about our Creator by blowing the feather-heads of dandelions and inspecting a caterpillar. Someday these little minds and bodies will be ready for long road trips to see the sites of this great country. But today, the backyard holds wonders to discover. If you can't tell, this Aunt takes her job pretty seriously and always manages to find the energy for one more trip to the swings or to hunt up yet another Popsicle. After all, you only get one chance at some things.

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for our list of BIG issues. Please continue to pray for us as you think of it. I can't share nearly all that I would like right now but believe me, we need God's guidance. HE has been so faithful to us and I have never loved Him more than now. I completely trust Him.

Enjoy your time away. Those moments are never wasted on little people--they grow up so fast. We're praying for God's direction for you two. Hey, Frankfort has a lovely job market--please keep us in mind too. :)
