Abigail got the biggest kick out of the loud bangs of the Black Cats.

I love the 4th of July. It is my favorite holiday--right after Christmas. We had a great time this year. Our friends and cousins Milton and Donna are always such generous hosts. They outdid themselves this time--there were 35 folks in their home for a cookout. It was too hot and humid to be outside much so we piled in the house. We all had a fabulous time.
That evening we went to watch fireworks. We got there early and met more friends. We sat and visited and the kids played with sparklers. I am so thankful for friends and family. We are blessed with many, many of them.
The rest of the week has been busy. Within a 24 hour period, the A/C, washing machine and dishwasher all quit. Thankfully, Bob was able to fix the A/C. He hasn't been able to revive either of the washers yet. So...he is over at his mother's now doing laundry. While he is doing that, I have hauled all the dishes out of the dishwasher and washed them by hand, cleaned the kitchen and the bathrooms and started packing for next week.
I will get to spend next week at Youth Camp. This is my fourth year being a dorm monitor in the teen girls' dorm. I have worked several positions but this is the one I like the best. I love the girls and pray that they will learn something during the week that helps them make good choices in their lives.
Bob is still looking for a job. No solid leads as of yet. As for the other couple prayer requests, no news at this time. "I know Who holds the future........"
Anyway, I think most of my blogger-buddies and readers have responsibilities at church on Sunday. One thing I know for sure is that the ugly old devil wreaks havoc on Sunday mornings and any other time we are trying to do God's work. So, I have been trying to say an extra prayer for all of us on church days. And, when you lose your lesson book, lock your keys in the car, or have a sick kid on Sunday morning, don't forget who is the author of confusion. God is a God of Peace. Re-group and re-focus and ask God to take charge of your morning. I'll try to remember my own advice. Let's all pray for each other. Hugs!!!

Thanks, Shar! I needed to know someone else was having a week like that--and that God is still in charge.
Thanks, Shar for your hug. I literally felt it - a warm squeeze in my heart. I needed it.
I hadn't heard about the floods....makes me homesick for Kansas, somehow.
I see I'm not the only crazy one who actually enjoys preteens and teens. Most like working with the younger ones (not that I don't like little ones) I feel more of my calling is with older kids!
Hey Shar-
I enjoy your blog!! My thoughts and prayers are with you at Youth Camp this week. I made many precious memories there!!!
