This is Mr Sea Cucumber. He lives in our aquarium. This picture should be rotated so that his arms are upright but I can't figure out how to do that. You will see how he is in the next picture.

One day Mr Cucumber climbed to the top of the tank, just below the surface of the water. No, he won't get out--he prefers the aquaspere! I grabbed the camera to capture him eating--which he does any time his "arms" are open. Sometimes he retracts his arms and is just kind of ball-shaped. Check out the arm at 12 o'clock position. The arms wave in the air (okay, water) and gather floating particles onto the little fingers. Then one by one the arms go into the cucumber through a little opening at the top.

Like this...

Mr Cucumber slurps the goodies off his fingers and sends it back out to collect more goodies!

Now it is 6 o'clock arm's turn.

Now another arm...and on it goes.
I'm no scientist but that is my understanding of the whole process. Mr Cucumber isn't my favorite animal in the aquarium but he is probably the most exotic. We have another one that is much smaller and is baby blue/light purple. It is prettier but not as cooperative with the camera. Mr Cucumber can also be called Mr Apple. You can google it and find more info.
BTW, we found my keys today. Of course, they were in an embarrassingly obvious place--on the dining room table under some aquarium heaters. I thought I had checked that spot several times...guess not. Thanks to all who prayed and tried to help.
Have a wonderful and restful Sabbath in the presence of our Abba!

Our aquarium is up and running...we still need to work on the rocks some and we still have not seen one of the dragnets yet...but we r coming along!

I love your Sea Cucumber--I'd spend all my time watching him if I was nearby.
How neat!
I am glad you found your keys. Wes lost his before Christmas and I found them about 3 weeks later behind my cookbooks on a low shelf so I am sure they had "help" getting there!!
How cool!
I thoroughly enjoyed this post. So interesting! Thanks for sharing it!
