Crystal and Lauresa have posted answers to prayer and I have enjoyed them a lot. I think it is always good to give God praise for answered prayer. Here's one of my recent close calls.

When I was making a trip to Joplin back in March for a job interview, it was dark and rainy. A mailtruck had wrecked and was sticking out in my lane and the mailman was standing beside it with a dim flashlight trying to steer people around it. I had to swerve to miss it and started hydroplaning all over the place. I was afraid I was either going to hit the mailman or go over the edge of the embankment. Then I felt the van straighten out and went sailed straight on down the highway! I was shaking but so thankful for God's protection.

I mentioned this in Crystal's comments. What I forgot to say was that a few weeks later I mentioned this event to Liz. She stopped and asked me exactly when that was. I told her and she said that she had felt impressed to pray for me all day that day. I know without a doubt that God's angels were flying along I-44 that night.

I drop in now and then to see what's going on in your corner of the world. For what it's worth, Mother's Day has always been one of my least favorite days because I feel so inadequate, even though I try pretty hard. My husband knows that Proverbs 31 always snows me under and is considerate enough to talk about other Bible women on that day.

BUT I agree, praising will do more for us and for God's glory than just about anything else, along with prayer that holds the hand of praise.

I like the mixture of events and thoughts on your blog.

It's great to read how God uses other people in our lives to pray at the right times! Our pastor spoke Sunday from Luke where Jairus was instructed not to trouble the master, because his daughter was already dead...our pastor went on to ask..."Who are you troubling the Master for?" and "Who is troubling the Master for you?" It was convicting.
