There have been some changes in the adoption plan. Mostly for the better but still a little overwhelming. The birthmother B. has decided to return to her home state of Texas to have the baby. She is a couple hours away from the hospital in Alaska and has had to miss a couple appointments because of the weather.
Travel to Texas will be a lot easier and cheaper. And we won't have to worry about weather issues like we would in Alaska.
Over all, going to Texas seems to be the best and right thing to do. The complicating factor is the legal side of things. It probably won't really be so bad once we get it lined out but in the meantime, it's giving me a headache!!
For an Alaska adoption, we had one attorney--in Alaska. We could finalize in 10 days in Alaska. Texas is a lot more complicated--and we will probably have to have attorneys in Texas and Missouri. Plus a few other details we have to work out.
Pray that we will be able to find the right attorney/attorneys who will be competent in the intricasies of inter-state adoption and that everything will go smoothly.

Praying for you!
Love you!
Hi Shar! WoW, just a "little" speed bump. I am praying and I do have faith that this will be a smooth transition. I smiled when I saw Texas, if it is Dallas I have a warm place for you two to stay. :-)
Love you.

Shar, I am so happy that this little one is joining your home. You will be awesome parents. I'll pray about this situation as God brings you to mind.
Hi! I know you don't know me, but I was blog surfing and I stumbled across yours. I wish you all the good luck in the world with this adoption. Some friends of ours are trying to adopt, so we know all the frustrations and difficulties that it can put you through. I will be praying that God will just work everything out for you, and that soon you will getting up for 3am feedings and changings! Babies are such a joy! I have a little boy who is 20 mos. old, and sometimes I get tired and worn out, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it!Babies are such a blessing. Best wishes to you!
Where in Texas is it? If it's anywhere close to way down south, let us know. So excited for you!!!
