Rambling

The top piture is Bob and I in our first home. We had a house full of company for dinner that day--at least 15-20, maybe more. This is common in my family but not so much in Bob's. We both love company but it use to be overwhelming to Bob. (Still is when I get carried away with the invitations!)
The other picture is from our wedding reception.
* Ten years ago on August 12, 1997 Bob and I went on our first date. We went to campmeeting and then we went to Sonic and the Independence Park. (Twenty-some years before this, my parents frequented the very same Sonic on their dates. Ahhh.... ) I was on a no-caffeine kick at the time so I ordered a Diet Sprite. I am quite clumsy and wasted no time spilling the Sprite on Bob's perfectly cleaned truck seat. Bob wanted to impress me by making his truck smell good. Nice thought but I was allergic to the air freshener! By the second date my head was pounding and my nose was running. I was miserable. I knew his intentions were good but I was having trouble enjoying our dates! I finally got up the courage to explain to him why I was having to honk my nose every little bit. He ripped that thing right out of the truck! One of the first things he told me when we were at Sonic on that very first date was, "When I get married, it's for life." Wow! That said a lot to me and I knew right away that this guy was playing for keeps! The other thing that impressed me was how much he loved his mother and spoke highly of her. We were in our mid-twenties and were ready to settle down. Six months later we were married on Valentine's Day 1998. I love him more than ever before. He is gentle, strong, smart, fun, and caring. Unlike his wife, he almost never spills things or knocks them over! He is observant and sensitive to others. He keeps me from taking myself too seriously. He's my best friend. Okay, I'm gushing so I'll stop.
