Sorry I've been MIA for a while.

Liz and Darrell, Gracie and Darrell Lee were here for a too-brief visit last week. We soaked up every second and I was too in-the-moment to grab a few pictures. We did our all-time favorite activity, fed the ducks and played here at home.
Let me see, there are a few things I have learned recently...
1) The most sensational, impressive, flashy, overrated, sugary, hyperactive, overwrought amusement, will, on a clear day in Disney World, entertain a preschooler....oh....about 2.4 seconds--if he doesn't have to pee.
2) If the man of the house wants to eat pizza, he had better have enough to share with everyone else or eat it in the security of a locked closet!
3) A closed door means nothing to preschoolers...
4) A locked door means: knock incessantly while calling out "Ms. Shar! Ms Shar!" and doing the potty dance and sounding ever more desperate. When Ms Shar opens the door say, "Whatcha doin' there?" while the need to urinate has seemingly vanished.
5) Mr Bob wasn't born with the knowledge that anyone under the age of 5 needs to be supervised VERY closely while using permanent markers on their pumpkin.
6) Don't arrive at the Pumpkin Patch at 5:30 when all the daytime activities ended at 5 and the nighttime ones don't start until 7--and cost 500% more! Helllloooooo! Lesson learned...now that the season is over!
6) Don't arrive at the Pumpkin Patch at 5:30 when all the daytime activities ended at 5 and the nighttime ones don't start until 7--and cost 500% more! Helllloooooo! Lesson learned...now that the season is over!
7) Those little munchkins can flat eat!
8) And they don't forget or miss a single thing!!
9) Fifteen minutes getting myself ready BEFORE they get up is equal to two hours of trying to get myself ready AFTER they get up!
10) Ten minutes of prep the night before can make the whole next 24 hours a lot better.
11) The real reason we put kids down for a nap...is so WE can BREATHE for a second!!

Wonderful lessons learned! Sounds like they're providing much hilarious blogging material. No doubt, Mr. Bob learned a valuable lesson with the marker AND the pizza. For future reference: food always tastes better when it belongs to someone else. :)
Sounds like you are learning fast! LOL You will begin to wonder what you did will all of your "free" time before kids though :-)
Enjoyed your posts. Wow! You guys have your hands full! Sounds like you are doing a great job.
Amen sister, right on! I know what you're talking about...the 15 minutes of getting ready BEFORE they get up...it's true. I LOVE Once upon a Child and really miss the one we had in Ohio.
Love,
Levit
