Anniversaries, Munchkins, Confessions, Politics...

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!!!

38 years ago today, Dad had only been 18 a few days when he said, "I do" to his high school sweetheart! Just two years later I came along. I always say that we "grew up together."

Thanks for being such wonderful parents.

Dad with Darrell Lee
Mom doing a puzzle with Gracie and Darrell Lee.
Spending some Auntie time with three special munchkins.

My confession is this, I am lazy about taking pictures. I love them and am always glad I took them but...I hate to be bothered with a camera! My neices and nephews know that if Aunt Shar is around they get my undivided attention if at all possible. So, I grab a few shots and borrow some from friends and just enjoy making memories...life is too short to not soak up every second.

Now, wasn't that a bizarre, utterly genius idea to appoint Sarah Palin for VP??? So, I admit, I walked right into the trap with 37 million others. I don't keep up with politics much anyway but was especially disinterested this year...until!!!!! If the Republicans wanted to "re-engerize the base"--I think they are well on their way!

I have to agree with Tamara, the most precious moment of all was Little Piper Palin taking care of her baby brother. So sweet and unscripted. Search http://www.youtube.com/ Palin spit doo. Dad said I should tell Piper about Dippity Do! Anyone else remember that goop? It was so COLD when Mom would smear it on my hair. Then it was stiff as a board when it dried. My Uncle Kent, who is only ten years older than me, would beg Mom not to put that stuff in my hair! (BTW, Cheryl M. I thought of you when poor Trig was getting a spit bath/doo!)

Totally unrelated...I love words. So does my brother Charles. He told me about a service offered by some web company that tries to clarify what you are searching for ("do you mean apples--like fruit, or computers, or....). The name of the service??? disambiguation!!! Clear as mud, huh?

We spent Labor Day weekend with family and friends. It was wonderfully relaxing. I have had a dream to water ski, yes, you read it correctly. So, thanks to some dear patient friends, I tried my hand, er, feet at it over the weekend. No luck this time but I won't quit trying!! Wish me luck!!

My blog friend, Sarah F., says that sometimes her blogging comes out like ketchup--sometimes none, sometimes a tiny bit and sometimes it spills out all over the place...like this one.

I saw this on a church sign the other day and it was just what I needed at the moment. Maybe it will encourage you, too.
Put everything in God's hands and

soon you will see God's hands in everything.
